DRACOON once again receives the certification of EuroPriSe

DRACOON, the leader in Enterprise File Sharing in the German-speaking market, once again receives the certification of EuroPriSe (European Privacy Seal).

The award of the “European Privacy Seal” certifies that the product of the same name, DRACOON, is fully compliant with the EU General Data Protection Regulation. This significantly reduces the liability risk for customers using DRACOON. The company is the first certified German software manufacturer to comply with all GDPR requirements. EuroPriSe is awarded exclusively to IT products and IT-based services that comply with the requirements of European data protection law.

“The product, as well as the transparent documentation, really convinced us during the examination process,” explains Sebastian Meissner, Head of the EuroPriSe certification body. “For this reason, we have also upgraded DRACOON to ‘excellent’ in the area of ​​transparency,” adds Meissner.

Dr. Florian Scheuer, CTO of DRACOON, adds: “We are very pleased about the re-certification. In this way, we are sending our customers and partners an important signal that DRACOON not only offers high safety standards, but also a completely correct implementation of the GDPR. ”

Along with this certification, DRACOON was also awarded the Privacy Seal for “Outstanding Data Protection under German Law” by the Independent Center for Privacy Protection Schleswig-Holstein (ULD), the German data protection authority recognized in Germany. For the Schleswig-Holstein authorities, this seal is even an award criterion: a product with a quality seal must be given priority in the case of public tenders (under otherwise identical conditions). A certified product is also guaranteed to comply with the requirements of German data protection law. This eliminates the need for a repeated examination of this criterion for the contracting authority, thereby saving authorities time. This saving in time must be taken into account in the decision as part of the performance audit. Both EuroPriSe and the ULD seal are valid for two years.
